Vikram Gandhi is the award-winning director and producer of fiction and non-fiction films. In his first film, Kumaré, which won the Audience Award at SXSW 2011, Vikram impersonates a religious leader, designs his own religion, and creates a following of real people. He has appeared on the Colbert Report, Nightline, Al Jazeera's The Stream, and numerous NPR programs speaking about this social experiment. Vikram is also a producer and correspondent on VICE on HBO telling hard-hitting news on topics such as tribal uprising in Papau New Guinea, nuclear waste in Japan, rising oceans in Antarctica, surveillance in the US, and gang violence in Honduras. Vikram produces commercials, branded content, and television through his New York-based production company, PROPHETS. His next film, Barry, a biopic about Barack Obama’s college years, will release as a Netflix Original in 170 countries on December 16th.
